Waterloo Local School District: Combination K-12 Addition and Renovation Atwater, Ohio

Pardo Consultants performed the Mechanical Design for the renovation and addition for this school that is approximately 270,000 sq. ft. Following the Ohio School Facility Commission Design Manual Guidelines for the design system and area spaces of this school made it a successful project for us. This building uses two 7,000 MBH flexible water tube boilers and 414-ton rotary screw air-cooled chiller with 30% ethylene glycol. The water distribution system was based on primary and secondary loops using variable speed package system. On the airside, heat recovery wheels are used to recover sensible and latent heat from the relief air and toilet exhaust from the building. Coordination between all engineering disciplines and architect was critical for the Layout of all MEP systems particularly in the mechanical rooms and existing building.
